Power Amplifier at L-band and UHF –band frequencies
New generation of Software Defined Radios employ waveforms which demand backing-off the Power Amplifier from its peak capacity. This limits the efficiency of the PA and poses thermal challenges in design, when packaged in a small volume.
These L-band and UHF-band Power Amplifiers have been designed and developed with collaboration IIT Roorkee.
The UHF Power Amplifier design is based on optimum device selection which can provide high efficiency while achieving specified linearity requirements in terms of harmonics and IMD suppression
The L-band Power Amplifier is optimized high efficiency operation at 3 dB back-off, apart from operation at saturation.
The L-band Power Amplifier is operating over the bandwidth of 960 – 1240 MHz and the UHF Power Amplifier is operating over the bandwidth of 290 – 320 MHz
These amplifiers are suitable for airborne SDRs, providing an optimal combination of power output, harmonic suppression and intermodulation suppression in a single package weighing about 3.5 kgs.
