SarangHeli-borne ESM System
SARANG is anAdvanced ESM System indigenously developed by DLRL for installation on Kamov 31 Helicopters of Indian Navy.
It’s salient features are as follows:
The primary Mission and Display functions of UMC are as follows:
- Intercepts radars operating in B-K frequency band including LPI & Exotic types, providing a spatial coverage of 3600 in azimuth and -200 to +150 in elevation.
- Configured with Broad Band and Narrow Band Receivers to meet the tactical and strategic requirements.
- High Probability of Intercept(POI),high sensitivity& high DF accuracy based on BLI technique 20 RMS.
- Capable of handling 500emitters in dense radar environment with fast response time.
- In-built Radar Finger Printing System(RFPS) for unique emitter identification based on inter& intra pulse analysis.
- System supports data recording and playback facility for post mission analysis.
- User friendly MMI with Moving Map feature facilitating location fix of emitter.
Application of the Product
The ESM system can be used to intercept, detect& identifies Air /Ground/Ship borne Radar emissions including short duration transmissions from submarines in B-K frequency band. The ESM system is Wide Open in frequency & space, facilitating high probability of intercept (100%). The high sensitivity, high DF accuracy and accurate signal parameters measurements facilitates to intercept and identify the emitters deep inside hostile territory. The system can be used to accurately location fix of intercepted emitters.
